Case Study: Brand & Website Design in a Week

My Brand and Website design studio designed a luxe, neutral brand and elegant website for Bare Skin Aesthetics, owned by Keiann Race in Gastonia, NC—all within a single workweek. Here’s how it came together.

Introducing City & Sea’s “Website in a Week” Service

In January 2025, I expanded my offerings to include Website in a Week (WIAW). While my VIP Day service is ideal for smaller, focused tasks or quick-turnaround projects, some businesses need a more extensive transformation. Enter WIAW: a service tailored to help businesses reimagine their branding and online presence within just five days.

When Keiann reached out to elevate her esthetician business, Bare Skin Aesthetics, I knew this would be the perfect opportunity to roll out the WIAW model. Her business offers corrective aesthetic services like Hydrafacials, dermaplaning, and microneedling, and she wanted her brand and website to reflect a modern, refined, and luxurious vibe.

The Bare Skin Aesthetics Project Timeline

Day 1-2: Branding the Vision

Before diving in, I worked closely with Keiann to understand her vision: minimalist, neutral, and elegant branding that would communicate professionalism and luxury.

  • Color Palette: Inspired by Keiann’s Pinterest board, I curated a refined palette of soft taupes, warm beiges, and muted whites with subtle gold accents. These tones were designed to evoke tranquility and sophistication.

  • Typography: I searched for fonts that balanced modernity with elegance. A clean, serif font paired with a light, sans-serif secondary font captured the elevated yet approachable aesthetic we were aiming for.

  • Logo Design: The logo featured a minimalist wordmark with subtle detailing, emphasizing Bare Skin Aesthetics' polished and timeless identity.

By Tuesday afternoon, we finalized the branding, ensuring every detail aligned with Keiann’s vision and business goals.

Day 3-4: Website Design

Once the branding was complete, I shifted focus to the website. Keiann wanted a streamlined, intuitive site that would integrate her Square booking system and showcase her services with a clean, high-end design.

  • Homepage: The homepage highlighted Bare Skin Aesthetics' philosophy of self-care and skin health. It featured elegant typography, subtle animations, and plenty of white space to maintain a refined look.

  • Services Page: I created a user-friendly layout to detail her corrective aesthetic services. A mix of imagery and concise descriptions helped potential clients easily understand the offerings.

  • About Me Page: Keiann’s story and expertise took center stage here. I crafted this page to feel approachable yet professional, using her brand colors and typography to tie everything together seamlessly.

  • Integration & Final Touches: On Thursday, I integrated Square for seamless online booking, ensuring functionality across devices.

Day 5: Final Tweaks and Launch

Friday was all about perfecting the details. I revisited the website to refine spacing, image placement, and typography. After a final review with Keiann, we celebrated the successful completion of her new brand and website. Bare Skin Aesthetics went live that evening, ready to wow her clientele.

Reflections on the Process

The success of this project lies in clear communication, thoughtful planning, and focused execution. By dedicating an entire week to Bare Skin Aesthetics, I was able to give Keiann a brand and website that align perfectly with her goals.
